About Me

Hello there, I’m Nigel. I have been a professional drummer and sound engineer since 1992, working on countless concerts and sessions. Now I’m offering my drumming and production skills online so that I can help you create the best possible live drums and associated production to fit your project wherever you are. My studio ‘The Doghouse’ is situated in Copenhagen, Denmark.

While it is possible these days to create professional sounding recordings of many instruments in smaller studios or ‘in the box’, there is still no substitute for real live drums.

Previously I have worked as a drummer with; Iain Ballamy, Martin Speake, Robin Lumley, Guy Chambers, Jools Holland, Geno Washington, James Woodrow, Tony Hadley, John Mizarolli, Alex Dmochowski (aka Erroneous), Leo Green, Rune Funch, Nikolaj Torp Larson, Charlie Winston, Ron Carter, Malcolm Ross and currently provide batterie for the band Astro Hatch with Danish guitar great Claus Bøhling.

From 1992 to 2005 I was a house engineer at The Premises Recording Studios in Hackney, London. Clientele included; Ian Shaw, Ronnie Caryl, Dill Katz, Flora Purim, Roy Ayers, Talvin Singh, Dennis Davis, Hermeto Pascoal, Palle Mikkelborg, Theo Travis, Michael Dunford, Tony Marsh, Harry Beckett, Kings Of Convenience, London Community Gospel Choir, Ten Benson, Jamie Cullum, Martin Drew, Mike Westbrook, The BBC, Channel 5 & Jazz FM.

Education: I have an OCR Certificate and Diploma in Sound Recording and Music Technology.

IN ADDITION TO the above, I can also provide the voice overs, music and sound effects for your advert, TV, film or DVD project. Please navigate to the Voice Overs/FX page for more information.
